Sky presenter says Cody Gakpo did something he’s never seen before in his post-match interview tonight

james creekSky presenter Mark Chapman has praised Cody Gakpo’s post-match interview following Liverpool’s win over West Ham United tonight.Gakpo got on the scoresheet for the Reds and scored a much-needed goal in the 5-1 defeat to the Hammers. But the Dutchman was not the star of the show at Anfield. Curtis Jones won the Man of the Match award. Gakpo took time to praise Jones after being presented with a bottle of champagne in a joint post-match interview with Sky Sports. “Santa is coming early!” The Liverpool striker laughed. – I have a short speech. I am so proud of you. You work so hard that no one will see it clearly because it’s private, but you deserve the best. Come on bro!”Chapman, who returned to the studio, seemed surprised by what he had just seen in Gakpo. “I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything like it,” said the driver. “I love it! It shows the spirit in them and the spirit of the team.””Let’s see more of this!” Jamie Redknapp agreed. “I really like it.

Gakpo demonstrates leadershipIt was a beautiful moment that Jurgen Klopp would have loved to see. It’s rare to see a player give a speech like a cape before receiving their Man of the Match award.
Of course, this is usually followed by a mumbled “Ok” followed by some sort of handshake. But how often do you see an athlete with such a positive message going out of their way to give away an award? That’s what you’d expect from a player with a lot more experience than Gakpo.

But there’s a reason why Cody became captain of PSV Eindhoven at the age of 23. He is clearly a perfect young man who does his best to please those around him. If he stays at Liverpool for the next few years, it is clear that he will join Klopp’s management team sooner rather than later. It’s not that you don’t have a strong character, it’s just that they don’t understand you well enough. Add each cannon to that list. As Chapman said, it shows how strong the team spirit is right now. Team spirit has always been at the heart of Liverpool’s success under Klopp. The feel-good factor is back after last season. And Gakpo shows that he is in charge.
