LEXINGTON, Ky. — March Madness is almost here and a new survey shows which teams America probably won’t be rooting for in the NCAA Tournament.
According to data pulled from X in the past month, Duke is the most hated men’s team in NCAA basketball. Gambling website BetOnline compiled the data based on tweets with negative sentiments directed at each program
.The site tracked 70,000 tweets containing language like “Duke sucks” and “I hate Duke.”
Kentucky came in at No. 3, perhaps a carryover from John Calipari’s 15-year tenure, which ended after last season. Calipari led UK to four Final Fours and one national championship.
His previous Final Four appearances with UMass and Memphis were vacated due to rules violations within those programs, although Calipari was never directly implicated.
Florida checked in at No. 2, Kansas at No. 6, and the two-time defending national champion UConn Huskies are No. 10.
