Texas Tornado: Daughter of Steelers Legend Shares Scary Story

The Pittsburgh Steelers are revered for their traditions of continuity, consistency, and most importantly, winning. They’ve had three head coaches in a half-century and fewer starting quarterbacks than you’d expect, too.

As such, the Steelers have an appreciation for a surplus of legends that came to Western Pennsylvania and left with a legacy. “Once a Steeler, always a Steelers,” feels real, especially for those that have a Super Bowl to come back and celebrate.

Among them is former quarterback Terry Bradshaw, and the Pittsburgh faithful sent some support when his family needed it after a tornado in Texas. The daughter of the Steelers legend, Erin, shared her scary tornado story, in which two of her horses were injured – one lethally.

“It got a little western at 5 am here,” Erin said. “Two of our loafing sheds got tossed like golf balls. Sadly one loafing shed was in our mare and baby pasture. We lost one baby and have one mare with a severe cut to her back leg that is due any day with her baby at the vet clinic.”

“Not what anyone wants to wake up too and we are heartbroken to lose a baby but things could have been worse. I’m glad our home is okay. I have no idea what hit us but it had a little path through our property and down our road like a small tornado.”

Fortunately, Erin’s family is OK. She took to social media to share her story and then her thanks for the help she received.”Thank you Steve Owens for coming first thing and cleaning with his crew and doing a total clean up,” Erin said. “And thank you Weems and Stephens for the emergency vet care early this morning.”

The tornado scare could be the start of an eventful offseason for the Bradshaw family. The Steelers icon will be 77 by the time Week 1 kicks off, prompting questions about his potential retirement. Fellow football elder Jimmy Johnson stepped away from the same Fox Sports broadcast desk in March.

For Erin, it’s back to work on the ranch.

“Texas you can kiss my ass today. And now we have a dust storm.”
