Dominik Soboszlai now deserves a double Of course, CIES statistics are unreliable and do not always reflect real market statistics. However, it is still an impressive honor for the Liverpool midfielder to be so highly regarded. Despite what Szoboszlai has shown so far, it looks like Liverpool could continue the club’s habit of buying players for far less than they are actually worth. And this was reflected not only in the field, but also in this CIES study.
Looking back, it may not seem like it, but Liverpool had a very successful summer transfer window last year. Jurgen Klopp’s recruitment team has brought in players who have become the backbone of a top Premier League side. From Wataru Endo to Alexis McAllister and of course Dominic Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenburch, Liverpool could not have picked a better back and group of players, especially considering the price paid.
One of the biggest signings was undoubtedly Dominik Soboszlai who arrived from RB Leipzig for £60m, The Guardian reports.
Soboszlai joined the team immediately, as if he had been playing Jurgen Klopp’s football for years. He now looks set to double his transfer fee after just six months at Anfield. According to the latest CIES statistics, Soboszlai is currently the 13th most expensive player in the world at £120m.That’s more than Kylian Mbappe, who the Hungarian underestimates and is worth just £92m according to the website. This is much lower than Liverpool’s price in 8th place.
