But former Fulham and West Ham striker Bobby Zamora, who scored 47 Premier League goals, revealed on the Under The Cosh podcast that Gerrard once tried to persuade him to move to Liverpool. The striker also said that if he had another choice, “I would have spent five years with the Reds”.
“I should have left Fulham for Liverpool,” Zamora, now 42, admitted. “Roy (Hodgson) went to Liverpool. They are offering 10 million pounds (about $13 million) a pair at a time. “When I played my first game for England against Hungary, I was in the lift with my best friend and Stevie D said, ‘I really enjoyed myself today, good job.’ Do you want to come to Liverpool? said. I said, “Okay, okay, okay,” and he said, “I’ll talk to Roy.”
