VIRGIL VAN DIJK ISSUES A SIX-WORD REACTION AS LIVERPOOL KNOCK ARSENAL OUT OF THE FA CUP

 

A depleted Liverpool side fought hard to beat Arsenal 2-0 in the FA Cup at the Emirates on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s side were the better of the first half and should have scored at least two goals, but a goalless first half proved costly.

Liverpool emerged as a different animal in the second half and fought even harder, and Luis Diaz completed the win at the last minute when Arsenal defender Jakub Kivior scored an own goal with 10 minutes remaining.

Virgil van Dijk has been ruled out through illness this evening, with Jarrell Kwanzaa and man of the match Ibrahima Konate starting at the heart of Liverpool’s defence.

They put in a great performance, with Virgil van Dijk commenting on the win on his Instagram story after the game.

The ice-cold defender simply wrote: “Come on, everyone. “Let’s go,” he added with a heart emoji, and Wataru Endo, who is out in Japan, added pushups, fuel and heart emojis to his Instagram story.

Liverpool are missing key playersThis is a statement of intent for Liverpool as they won the FA Cup against their Premier League rivals and their squad is quite weak.

Van Dijk, Dominic Szoboslai, Endo, Joel Matip, Kostas Tsimkas, Andy Robertson, Thiago Alcantara and Mohamed Salah are all gone.

But apart from the injured Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal were a very strong team and not only did they lose, they failed to score again!All in all, things are not looking good for the Gunners, who are slipping down the Premier League table after a string of league defeats.
