Liverpool

What a nice business! -Liverpool can sign a “baller” like Rodri for 8 million pounds

Jurgen Klopp appears to have avoided several high-profile players in the transfer window as the January market heats up, but Liverpool could take a step in the right direction this month. CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs recently revealed that top targets Andre, Joao Palhinha and Piero Hincapie are now out of reach, with the Anfield manager saying it won’t be easy to pull off an impressive deal in January.
That said, Liverpool will attack when the right opportunity presents itself. As the situation last winter showed; Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo.

Liverpool are among the favorites to sign Argentina Juniors midfielder Federico Redondo in 2024, with the South American club set to sign the 20-year-old wonderkid for just £8million, according to TEAMtalk. Giants Manchester United and Real Madrid are also interested and while Liverpool do not normally pursue unproven suitors in this way, the available fee and abundance of quality could force Klopp to initiate a formal approach.

The No.6 is one of Argentina’s hottest commodities at the moment and has been causing a storm with his early performances, with the winter season providing the perfect opportunity to establish himself firmly on Merseyside.

Federico Redondo’s style of play Described by one journalist as a “baler”, Redondo has made a total of 58 appearances for the team since coming through the youth ranks, scoring two goals and providing an assist in each game. He completed 87 percent of his passes last season and had a 68 percent completion rate.

According to FBref, the star ranks in the top 15% of midfielders for passes completed, top 19% for tackles attempted, top 12% for progressive passes and top 15% for successful buy-ins in categories similar to Argentina’s Primera Division.

He has demonstrated skills as an intermediate to elite level “controller”. Talent scout Jacek Kulig talked about Redondo’s abilities. This basically means his regular central presence, directing play, picking passes with great play and protecting the backline.

Although not a carbon copy stylistically, he could be Liverpool’s next Alexis McAllister, his World Cup-winning compatriot starting his career at Argentinos Juniors before moving to Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2019.
Specifically, compared to Manchester City’s Rodri, if you like Liverpool and are looking for a star, he might not be a bad player

How does Federico Redondo compare to Rodri?
The aforementioned Kulig wrote that the Manchester City midfielder is more like Argentina’s latest football prodigy by comparison.setting Redondo’s greatest strengths as excellent positioning and spatial awareness, excellent distribution and the ability to be a “consistent, attacking and challenging midfielder with a very high work rate”, there is no doubt that he is cut out of the same cloth.

But to reach the Spaniard’s level, he needed to develop those qualities and refine them to the point where Rodri was recognized as the best no. 6 in the world. The 27-year-old ranks in the top 1% for passes completed and passes attempted, top 3% for progressive passes and top 12% for 90 goals. He has also averaged 7.9 Premier League rebounds this season, completing 77% of dribbles and 75% of aerial battles, putting him at the heart of Pep Guardiola’s complex system at the Etihad Stadium.

If Redondo joins Liverpool, he could develop the natural ability to become a leading player in European competitions, and for a small fee, Klopp should be everywhere.
