BREAKING NEWS: “Kozora: Revisiting My Steelers 2024 Predictions – What I Got Right, What I Got Wrong”

As the 2024 NFL season has come to a close, it’s time to revisit my preseason predictions for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Upon reflection, I’m pleased to see that I accurately predicted Kenny Pickett would take a significant step forward in his second season as the Steelers’ starting quarterback. While Pickett’s stats may not have been eye-popping, he showed significant improvement in his decision-making and accuracy. Additionally, I correctly predicted that the Steelers’ defense would be a solid unit, even if they didn’t quite reach the top 10 in the league. They kept the team in games all season long, and their performance was a highlight of the season.

I also predicted that George Pickens would emerge as the Steelers’ top wide receiver, and while his stats may not have been the most impressive, he was clearly the team’s most talented and consistent receiver. However, not all of my predictions came to fruition. I predicted that the Steelers would win 10 games and make the playoffs, but unfortunately, the team fell short of that mark, winning only 8 games and missing the playoffs. I also predicted that Najee Harris would have a breakout season and emerge as one of the top running backs in the league, but while Harris was solid, he didn’t quite reach the level I predicted.

Furthermore, I predicted that the Steelers’ special teams unit would be a strength, but unfortunately, the unit was a major weakness, with inconsistent kicking and poor coverage. As I reflect on the season, I’ve learned that the Steelers’ roster is still a work in progress. While the team has some talented young players, they still need to add depth and talent to the roster. I’ve also learned that Kenny Pickett is the real deal, and while he may not be a top-tier quarterback, he’s a solid starter who can lead the team to victories.

The Steelers’ defense is still a strength, but it’s not without its weaknesses. The team needs to add more talent to the defensive line and improve its pass rush. Overall, the 2024 season was a disappointing one for the Steelers, but there were still some positive take .aways, and the team has a solid foundation to build on for the future. As always, I’ll be keeping a close eye on the team’s offseason moves and will be back with more predictions and analysis in the coming months.
