The brother of an up-and-coming Liverpool star has taken a stand against clickbait and debunked a nonsense rumour linking the player with a move away.
Doing as this outlet so often does, Sport Bible posted a very leading article on their Twitter/X account, with the caption reading “Liverpool wonderkid ‘could leave’ after Jurgen Klopp exit as ‘dream club’ revealed”.
That wonderkid in question was Bobby Clark, who along with a handful of Liverpool prospects has burst onto the Anfield scene in recent months, notably scoring his first Reds goal on Thursday in the 6-1 demolition of Sparta Prague.
For anyone who’s fearing that claims surrounding a Liverpool exit for Clark may be true, fear no more. Clark’s brother, Jak, replied to the tweet in question, revealing it as completely unfounded.
“Don’t bother clicking,” Jak said, saving fans from falling for the bait set by the outlet.
To the surprise of no-one, the article didn’t contain anything that would indicate that Clark is leaning towards an Anfield departure.
These claims were solely based on the comments of the midfielder’s Premier League-pedigree father, Lee Clark, who is most remembered for his time at Newcastle United and thus admitted it would be a dream to see his son play for his former club.
“My ultimate wish would absolutely be to see Bobby playing for Newcastle,” he told No Tippy Tappy Football.
“I don’t know how many father and son combinations have both appeared for the club.
“I was lucky enough to play for them 265 times and, who knows, he might have to do an Alan Shearer and come back! That would be my dream.”
While a dream that’s more than understandable for Lee, it in no way means that Bobby will be following his dad’s footsteps by donning the black and white in the near future, with the 19-year-old currently making waves on Merseyside.
