Father of Liverpool youngster Bobby Clark, Lee Clark, has expressed his ‘wish’ to see his son don the Newcastle kit in future.

The club and Jurgen Klopp’s commitment to seamlessly integrate young talents into the senior team has seen the 19-year-old emerge as a crucial senior team member.

“On the Wednesday evening after beating Fulham, Bobby and the lads were feeling sky high because they had helped the team reach the Carabao Cup final.

Bobby texted me and said, ‘Dad, I need to speak to you’ – I thought something bad had happened to him personally.

He told me that Jurgen was leaving and I was gutted, so just imagine how the players felt. Now it seems to have galvanised the group even more. They want to make it a memorable season for the boss when he leaves.”

Even though his father wants to see Bobby play for the Magpies, it does not look like it is going to happen soon.

Clark has been impressive with his on-field displays so far and it is safe to say that he will grow even better with age.
