Liverpool are looking to land another key figure from Bournemouth as they prepare to sign Cherries chief scout Mark Burchill.
The south coast club’s sporting director, Richard Hughes, has agreed to join Liverpool at the end of the season and told his new bosses he’d like to bring Burchill with him. The esteemed scout will join Barry Hunter, Liverpool’s current chief scout, and head of recruitment, Dave Fallows, as part of Liverpool’s new look recruitment team.
Burchill and Hughes have a history together – they were team-mates at Portsmouth back in their playing days in the 2000s. Burchill has managerial experience too, having led Livingston to victory in the Scottish Cup in 2015.
However, after being let go, he chose to move into scouting, joining Hughes at Bournemouth. Following his playing career, Burchill pursued his goals in management, reports the Mirror.
