Once the latest and last international break of the season is over we’ll enter into the business end of the season, and Liverpool has much to play for going into the final six weeks of the season. Despite the FA Cup defeat to Man United, never an easy pill to swallow for Reds fans, the club is still very much in the hunt for two more trophies, with the Premier League and Europa League very much achievable targets. Here’s your round-up of the latest Liverpool news.
Liverpool loanee Fábio Carvalho has scored four goals since joining Hull City on loan. The 21-year-old has confirmed that he intends to return to Merseyside after his time in the Championship ends.
Carvalho signed for Liverpool from Fulham in the summer of 2022 but has struggled to assert himself at Anfield. Last summer, he was sent on loan to Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, however the move didn’t work out, and he was returned to Liverpool and then sent to the Yorkshire side in order to gain more minutes.
Speaking to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Carvalho assessed his first season at Liverpool and his future: “It was a bit like my career has been: ups and downs. But I learnt a lot there, with players at a different level. I went to Liverpool because I want to be the best player in the world,” he said.
“And to get there I have to compete every day with the best in the world. I learnt a lot from those players who have so much experience in the Premier League and the Champions League. It’s a very strong group, both on and off the pitch, who have taken me in as one of their own. I’m very grateful to them and to Mr Klopp,” added Carvalho. Asked if he plans to return Anfield, Carvalho replied: “Yes, in the pre-season.”
