Liverpool’s youngsters have been key to the treble push with this season, with several stepping up when required. Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah and Bobby Clark have all become first-team regulars and will undoubtedly play their parts in the run-in.
The likes of Jayden Danns and James McConnell have also made their mark with Jürgen Klopp hailing the work of the club’s academy coaches in developing his youngsters. “I am never short of a positive word to say about the work our Academy guys do,” he wrote in the club’s official program back in January.
“They help to nurture players who are exceptional young men as well as very talented athletes. “They come to us with a freshness and eagerness to absorb all the knowledge and experience of the more established stars around them. That is because of the outstanding LFC Academy staff and the culture they create.”
It appears that Klopp’s successor will also reap the rewards of the club’s academy system after the Liverpool boss took a closer look at some more youngsters this week. As his senior players filtered back to the AXA Training Centre after their international excursions, Klopp called up some more new faces to train on Wednesday.
Midfielder Trey Nyoni, 16, has already had first-team exposure this season in the FA Cup win over Southampton and he was joined in the session by 17-year-old defender Carter Pinnington, reports This Is Anfield.
