Liverpool

Liverpool’s transfer policy regarding the recent transfer of Mohamed Salah clearly proves one thing.

Liverpool have made their position clear on selling Mohamed Salah in January.

Liverpool had a testing period in the summer transfer window and came out stronger than expected. Bad news continued to abound at Anfield after the uncertainty of midfield departures, including the loss of captain Jordan Henderson.

With five senior midfielders out and an inexperienced number six missing from the squad, Liverpool have gone all-in on Romeo Rabia, who has requested a move away from recently relegated Southampton. The conversation went on for weeks, if not months, and it certainly seemed like a good fit.

All that remains is to tie up the loose ends. But somehow, Liverpool’s eggs were all broken after the midfielder rose to the post for the first defensive target. The nature of the failed move against Lavia demonstrated the club’s optimistic attitude towards disrupting one of its closest rivals.

As Chelsea added the final piece to the Moisés Caicedo puzzle, the Reds stepped in to turn things around. Caicedo’s summer saga took a dramatic turn after Brighton failed to quickly agree a deal with Liverpool after costing them a £111m bid.

At least for a few hours. The Ecuadorian made it clear that if he doesn’t move to Stamford Bridge, he won’t move at all. Midfield restructuring has been more difficult than expected, but nothing has set Liverpool fans’ hearts aflutter more than Mohamed Salah’s transfer rumours. Of course, every player’s time at a club must come to an end, but Salah is one player fans would like to see stay forever.

As Roberto Firmino’s emotional farewell showed, club icons can still be regarded as legends as they enter a new chapter, but the loss of Salah will surely go a step deeper. After acquiring Henderson and Fabinho from Liverpool, Saudi Arabia began their search for the world’s best footballer in the Premier League.

Of course, Salah’s name has been mentioned, but it hasn’t been a rumor for a long time. Al Ittihad made it their first mission to take the Egyptian to the Saudi Arabian Professional League and their efforts have been tireless. After Liverpool rejected an initial bid of £150m – an unprecedented sum for the 31-year-old – Al Ittihad returned with a record bid.

A sum of more than £200m has been put in front of the Reds, but it is still not enough to convince them to sell.Liverpool could not part with Salah despite the lure of money as offers came in quickly on the final day of the transfer window. They have had no time to hire replacements and their priority this season is clearly to perform as high as possible in the Premier League. Liverpool are not doing this half-heartedly.

They finished fifth last season despite questionable form and knew redemption had to come at full speed this season. So the latest update on Salah’s immediate future comes as no surprise. According to Football Insider, Manchester United will not be parting ways with the winger in January, despite being offered an offer.

Liverpool’s owners are putting a ‘not for sale’ sign on Salah, at least for now, amid ‘huge interest’ from Saudi Arabia.Given how badly the SPL want to sign Salah and the money spent on him, Liverpool would be foolish to turn down the deal, especially in the summer when his contract expires. Not only does it bring huge profits to players over 30 years old, but sales also help fund the next frontier. Because, let’s be honest, Klopp isn’t going to buy a rotation player or rising star to replace Salah.

He wants a mature scoring machine that can react immediately and get results. This discussion is for the summer though, so fans don’t have to worry about January.

If Liverpool are patient and give Salah one last test before sending him on his way, they will not only keep things clean but also show they are willing to stick with him for the final push up. No fan can expect Liverpool to bounce back from last season and challenge for the title. But these days the competition is wide open and the Premier League can often move in mysterious ways.
