£26M Rated South American Star Confirms He Rejected “Irrefutable Proposal” From Liverpool

Fluminense midfielder Andre has revealed he did turn down an offer to join Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

The Reds reportedly bid €30m (£26m) for the Brazilian international but the player said he had to reject the proposal as he didn’t want to break a promise he made to his manager:

“I’ve never talked about it, the first time I’ll talk about will be now. It really was an irrefutable proposal for the club that it was, for the big league.”

“I told him that, regardless of what happened, I would be there until the end of the year. It ended up passing and, reaching the middle of the year, we were still in the round of 16 of the Libertadores. It was a very difficult decision to make.”

Will Liverpool go back in for Andre in January?
It is believed that the 22-year-old could be made available for transfer once the Brazilian season ends, meaning he could be on the market in the New Year.

There have been rumours that Jurgen Klopp‘s side could reignite their interest in Andre but there has been no confirmation that will happen yet.

However, it would be hoped that Liverpool have already done the necessary groundwork to get a deal over the line quickly in January if they do choose to go ahead with the transfer.
