Man City are about to head to Anfield to take on Liverpool in a key Premier League tie but Pep Guardiola will have to take his side to Merseyside at the back of some really poor form.
Manchester City might be sitting second on the league table but they are winless in their previous six matches and they have lost five out of these six matches. Everyone expected City to bounce back against Feyenoord in midweek but they threw away a lead and allowed the Dutch side to draw the match at 3-3.
This Sunday’s game will be very crucial for Man City’s fate because they are already nine points behind Liverpool and Guardiola’s side cannot afford to drop any more points. However, this isn’t going to be an easy fixture for City because they haven’t been able to keep a clean sheet in their previous six matches and after ages, a Guardiola side will go into a match as the second-favourites.
Three points and City’s title defence will be back on track but if they were to slump to a defeat then Liverpool might be running away from the title.
Rodri, Oscar Bobb, John Stones and Mateo Kovacic are all out injured and neither of them will be available for selection on Sunday.
Jeremy Doku is recovering from a thigh injury and he will be assessed before Man City take the pitch at Anfield.
Recently, Matheus Nunes has also played out on the left flank and if Doku is unavailable then he will most likely get a start. Guardiola also has Grealish in his side but since the England international played the full 90 minutes in midweek he will be on the bench at Anfield.
