The Reds, along with Manchester City and Newcastle, are believed to be still tracking the England Under 20 international, despite the fact that he signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract last month. Speaking about his future, Gray said:

“I’m a Leeds fan. There’s nowhere else I want to be, I wasn’t thinking about anywhere else. I just want to play here and enjoy my time here and try to help us get back to where we belong.”

Gray is only 17 years of age, but he has established himself in Leeds’ starting eleven this season as Daniel Farke’s side push for automatic promotion.

Although he is ostensibly a midfielder, he has played most of his senior football so far at right-back, prompting comparisons to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Gray would not be available on the cheap

When it was first revealed that Liverpool were interested in the teenager last year, it was reported that Leeds would demand between £40m and £5om to sell him.

Now, with a new deal in place, it may be even more difficult for the Merseyside club to prise Gray away from Elland Road.

Liverpool are also keeping tabs on Gray’s brother

The 15-year-old has not made his senior debut yet but he has been handed appearances for Leeds in the Under 18 Premier League this campaign. He has looked impressive too, scoring 3 times in 3 games.

Harry is an England youth international, like his brother, having played for the Three Lions at Under 15 and Under 16 level. It remains to be seen whether he or Archie will end up at Anfield in the future.
