The latter faces Paris Saint-Germain tonight, the side that eliminated Liverpool on penalties in the previous round. Meanwhile, the Gunners recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over Real Madrid yesterday in the first leg of their quarter-final tie, with Declan Rice netting two sublime free-kicks.
As for Liverpool news, Jurgen Klopp is reportedly set to return to the club next month as part of a charity event with the LFC Foundation, before attending the final game of the season at home against Crystal Palace. Of course, he could be watching the Reds lift the Premier League trophy that day.
Elsewhere, Liverpool has been linked with a move for Freiburg’s Merlin Rohl, while Jamie Gittens could be set to depart Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Liverpool has got it right with Salah and Van Dijk
Few expected that the contract saga involving Liverpool, Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold would end well for the Anfield club, but it sounds like the Reds have just about got it right in the end. Yes, Alexander-Arnold may be about to leave, but if Liverpool can afford to lose any of those three players, it is him. Conor Bradley has emerged as a viable first-team alternative to Alexander-Arnold over the last year or so; viable alternatives to Van Dijk and Salah, Liverpool does not have.
