Leeds United have underlined their long-term ambitions by securing the future of Joe Rodon, with the Welsh defender signing a new contract that will keep him at Elland Road until 2030.
The club officially confirmed the agreement on August 19, 2026, adding two years to Rodon’s previous deal, which was due to expire in 2028. The decision represents a major vote of confidence in a player who has developed from a loan signing into an important leader at the heart of Leeds’ defence.
FROM LOAN SIGNING TO LEEDS LEADER
Rodon initially joined Leeds on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023. At the time, the move offered the centre-back an opportunity to revive his career after finding it difficult to establish himself as a regular starter in north London.
However, Rodon quickly demonstrated his value at Elland Road. His strength, composure and defensive awareness made him an important figure in the back line, convincing Leeds that he could play a significant role in the club’s future.
