Schwarber’s power remains one of Philadelphia’s biggest offensive weapons. When he is producing at the plate, the Phillies become significantly more dangerous from top to bottom. His performance Saturday helped set the tone for an offense that eventually scored 12 runs.
Philadelphia will now attempt to complete the sweep and extend its winning streak to nine games. The Phillies have been playing some of their best baseball of the season, and another strong performance Sunday could provide additional momentum as the regular season moves toward its final stretch.
St. Louis, meanwhile, enters the finale looking to avoid another disappointing result. The Cardinals fell to 66-65 after Saturday’s loss and have now gone 2-4 since ending a three-game winning streak.
The recent difference between these teams is clear. Philadelphia has won 10 of its last 12 games, while St. Louis has struggled to maintain consistency. The Cardinals will need a much stronger performance on both sides of the ball if they hope to stop the Phillies from completing the series sweep.
