The North Carolina Tar Heels have suddenly found themselves at the center of one of the most intriguing recruitments in the 2027 class.
Five-star point guard Nasir Anderson has moved up his official visit to North Carolina, arriving in Chapel Hill on Wednesday, September 23, rather than waiting until the originally scheduled date. The development comes after Anderson canceled his previously scheduled official visit to USC, creating a major change in his recruiting calendar.
For new UNC head coach Michael Malone, the timing could hardly be more interesting.
Anderson is regarded as one of the premier prospects in the country, and North Carolina has already invested considerable time in his recruitment. Malone has personally visited Prolific Prep multiple times since the recruiting period opened, including visits earlier in September. Now, Anderson is heading to Chapel Hill considerably earlier than expected.
That does not mean a commitment to UNC is imminent. Anderson still has several major programs involved in his recruitment and additional official visits scheduled.
