Jarin Stevenson has never been the loudest voice in the room. But as the North Carolina Tar Heels prepare for a new era under head coach Michael Malone, the quiet senior forward is being asked to step into a much bigger leadership role.
Earlier in the offseason, a fellow reporter and I discussed Stevenson and what his presence could mean for UNC in 2026-27. As the team’s only returning starter and one of the few familiar faces remaining after a major offseason of change, Stevenson is expected to become an important piece of the Tar Heels’ new-look roster.
That responsibility could put the six-foot-10 forward in the spotlight more often than he is accustomed to.
