Kentucky Basketball fans could be in for a major recruiting moment as DeMarcus Henry, one of the highest-ranked prospects in the 2027 class, prepares to announce his college decision this week.
Ranked as high as No. 2 nationally, the elite small forward has attracted serious attention from several top programs, but Kentucky remains firmly in the race for his commitment.
Mark Pope and his coaching staff have reportedly put in tremendous effort to convince Henry that Lexington is the right place for his future. During his Kentucky visit, the Wildcats went all out, including a tour of the football facilities and a recruiting pitch from football coach Will Stein.
But Kentucky isn’t the only program making a serious push.
North Carolina also turned up the pressure, with Tar Heels head coach Michael Malone reportedly bringing basketball legend Michael Jordan into the recruiting effort during Henry’s visit to Chapel Hill.
Henry has spoken positively about Kentucky’s coaching staff, praising their continued communication and the way they’ve made him feel like a priority.
Now, with his decision approaching, the big question is: Will Mark Pope land another major recruiting victory and add one of the nation’s top talents to Kentucky’s 2027 class, or will a rival program steal the spotlight?
Kentucky already has Ryan Hampton committed for 2027, and landing Henry could make the Wildcats’ recruiting class even more exciting.
The wait is almost over, and Kentucky fans won’t want to miss this one.
