Miami, FL – The Miami Heat received a welcome dose of good news regarding the health of rookie center Kel’el Ware. After undergoing further evaluation, Ware’s knee injury has been diagnosed as minor, and he is expected to miss only a minimal amount of time.

Ware, the 8th overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft, had been experiencing knee soreness during a recent practice, prompting the team to shut him down as a precaution. However, after undergoing an MRI and consulting with team doctors, the Heat are breathing a sigh of relief.

“We’re thrilled that Kel’el’s injury is not as severe as we initially thought,” said Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra. “He’s a key part of our team’s future, and we’re looking forward to getting him back on the court soon.”

 

Ware’s injury is a significant relief for the Heat, who have been dealing with a rash of injuries to key players this season. With Ware expected to miss only a few games, the team can focus on getting him back up to speed without worrying about a long-term absence.
