Despite leading the Blue Devils to a 27-6 overall record and a 16-4 mark in ACC play, Scheyer was overlooked for the top coaching honor in the conference. The award instead went to Virginia Tech’s Mike Young, who led the Hokies to a 22-11 overall record and a 12-8 mark in ACC play.
