There are hopes in Colombia that the man who kidnapped the father of Liverpool striker Luis Diaz will soon be freed.
The government announced that the National Liberation Army (ELA) kidnapped and arrested Luis Manuel Diaz this weekend.
It is understood that the decision to admit Diaz Snr was not approved by the ELA team.
Liverpool journalist Paul Gorst tweeted: “Now @VickyDavilaH claims the ELN had no idea their men took Luis Manuel Diaz and is now calling for the release of the Liverpool star’s father.
“We hope this brings a quick and safe resolution to what has been a harrowing few days for the Diaz family.
