ACC makes major announcement regarding UNC’s 2025-2026 basketball schedule

The North Carolina Tar Heels are gearing up for an exciting 2025-2026 season, with a strong offseason and roster transformation setting the stage for a promising year. The team’s schedule has been released, featuring some thrilling matchups and tough opponents.

The Tar Heels will kick off their preseason with a Blue-White Scrimmage on Saturday, October 4, followed by exhibition games at BYU on October 24 at 9 p.m. ET and against Winston-Salem State on October 29. These games will give the team a chance to fine-tune their skills and build chemistry before the regular season. The regular season will tip off on November 3, with the Tar Heels facing off against Central Arkansas. The team will then host Kansas on November 7, followed by a matchup against Georgetown on December 7. One of the most anticipated games of the season will be the CBS Sports Classic against Ohio State on December 20.

In January, the Tar Heels will embark on a busy schedule, with games against some of the top teams in the ACC. They’ll travel to SMU on January 3, host Wake Forest on January 10, and then head out on the road for back-to-back games against Stanford and Cal on January 14 and 17. The team will also face off against Notre Dame on January 21, Virginia on January 24, and Georgia Tech on January 31.

The Tar Heels will host Syracuse on February 2, followed by a matchup against Duke on February 7. They’ll then travel to Miami on February 10, host Pitt on February 14, and head to Raleigh to face NC State on February 17. The team will face Syracuse again on February 21, host Louisville on February 23, and face Virginia Tech on February 28. As the season winds down, the Tar Heels will host Clemson on March 3 in their home finale, and then travel to Duke for the regular-season finale on March 7.

The ACC has announced the dates for six midweek Tar Heels games, including hosting Florida State on December 30, traveling to Stanford on January 14, hosting Notre Dame on January 21, traveling to Miami on February 10, NC State on February 17, and hosting Clemson on March 3. Game times for these matchups will be announced in the coming weeks.

With a talented roster and a challenging schedule, the Tar Heels are poised for a strong season. Let’s Go Heels!
