Liverpool

Alan Shearer and Jermain Defoe both predict where Liverpool will finish in the Premier League this season.

The Reds’ title chances improved unexpectedly last night as Arsenal lost 2-0 to West Ham United at the Emirates.

With this defeat, Liverpool remained at the top of the table heading into the new year. They are two points ahead of the Gunners after 19 games.

But when Amazon Prime Video Sport asked them for their final four predictions on Thursday night, neither Defoe nor Shearer believed Jurgen Klopp’s side would hang in there.

“City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Villa,” said Shearer. “I wanted to add Newcastle but I can’t!”Meanwhile, Defoe ignored the concerns of the other pundits and kept his team in a superior position. “City”, “Liverpool”, “Tottenham” and “Arsenal” have been selected as “Tottenham” legends. We will see.

Liverpool predicted they would finish second.

It’s funny how things can change so quickly in football. Before yesterday’s game, you can imagine the same pundits would be backing Arsenal over Liverpool.

But after the Gunners lost to West Ham, they are now considered favorites to win the competition for a third time. It’s too early to tell exactly where the cards will land. But looking at last night’s result, it’s hard to see how Arsenal won’t slow down in the new year.

Alan shearer ; They escaped Anfield last week after Trent Alexander-Arnold denied Liverpool the chance to win. But that luck ran out last night.

Although they had many chances to win, Mikel Arteta’s men failed to take them and were punished. I would say that West Ham are a very good team. But the title contenders will not be beaten 2-0 at home by the teams chasing the top-6 finish.

If Said Benrahma had scored a penalty kick in the last minute, the damage would have been even greater.

Manchester City will be just two points behind Liverpool if they win the match. It looks terrible right now. We can’t argue with these predictions, but when it comes to City and Liverpool, we feel like we’ve won.
