Following Thursday night’s clash between Arsenal and West Ham at the Emirates Stadium, several Amazon Prime Video sports pundits have had their say on who will finish in the top four. Newcastle United and Arsenal FC
Gabby Logan first asked Alan Shearer who he thinks will win the title and a place in the Champions League. He said: “City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Villa. I wanted to add Newcastle but I can’t! Then there was Jermain Defoe and he was with City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal. Thierry Henry joked after calling Spurs the Gunners and asking them to say it again.Henry, understandably nervous after Arsenal’s loss to West Ham, said: “Tell me about February. You can’t invite anyone to something like that! excuse me.”Manchester City remain favorites over Arsenal, while Newcastle are unlikely to challenge for a top-four finish. Admittedly, it hasn’t been a good week for the club that Shearer and Henry love. Newcastle’s form dipped significantly and Arsenal’s weaknesses were exposed against West Ham.
The January transfer window is a good time for both clubs, but may be limited by FFP and other clubs not wanting to sell key players mid-season. Let’s see what happens in the coming weeks. Teams like Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham will surely make the move. All have great potential for success but have been hampered by injuries, suspensions and fatigue throughout the season.
An exciting Premier League title race awaits, with Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa all vying for the title. Mean while, the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion and possibly Newcastle will fancy a place in the top four. We are now halfway through the Premier League season, with most teams having played 19 of the first 38 games.
