Liverpool fans have perhaps already seen the club’s next signing in action, although there is still plenty of time before the Reds have to make a decisive move. Getting in another holding midfielder remains a priority.
André Trindade has been linked with the club for a number of months now, with Liverpool having held discussions over the 22-year-old during the summer (as per the ECHO). It seems highly likely now that the midfielder will move on from Fluminense, with the club’s president Mario Bittencourt all but confirming his impending transfer. “We are waiting. Today, there is no concrete proposal for André,” he told Globo. “But we are sure that after the [Club] World Cup — he will play in the World Cup — a stratospheric proposal will arrive.
“It could be the biggest sale in the club’s history. We could possibly lose both (André and defender Nino), but we are working to replace them.”
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be submitting that ‘stratospheric’ proposal, but it certainly wouldn’t come as a surprise if the Reds make a move. Having watched André in action during Saturday’s Copa Libertadores final, there are plenty of supporters already certain he will be arriving at Anfield in January.
