Arne Slot has explained that his family is yet to join him in Liverpool because his children are currently going through important periods in their academic development.
Slot accepted his first job outside of the Netherlands earlier this year when he agreed to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, but moved to Merseyside without his wife, Mirjam; son, Joel; and daughter, Isa.
Slot hinted that a decision on whether his family joins him in Liverpool will likely be taken in 2025. “I think it depends on how it will work out this year,” Slot told Sky Sports. “Both of them are doing their exams. So, it was impossible for them to come. I wouldn’t say impossible, but that wouldn’t be the right choice to bring them over. And let’s see how it works out this year for them, for me, and see how we will do things next year. But first of all, we have to keep on winning for me to keep this job!”
Slot previously revealed that his wife and children are the only people he has time for outside of his staff and playing squad in the build-up up to a match. The Reds boss was asked by Sky Sports earlier this month what his schedule is like in the 24 hours before a game.
