All three of Arsenal, Liverpool or Manchester City could still win the Premier League with just seven games left to play for all of them by the end of this match-week.
This season’s title race is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling the Premier League has seen for quite some time, with three teams still battling it out.
For years, it has been a two-horse race with Manchester City and Liverpool battling it out for the biggest domestic honour. While both Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp’s side’s are still two of the most lethal sides in the league, a third outfit has entered the fight in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
Saturday afternoon saw City play the earliest, with Guardiola’s outfit making the trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in the lunchtime kick-off. Despite falling a goal behind inside five minutes, the reigning champions soon restored normality and ended up 4-2 winners.
Next up were the Gunners, who had a tricky trip away to Brighton in the evening slot. However, a first-half penalty from Bukayo Saka followed by a second-half tap-in courtesy of Kai Havertz and a deft Leandro Trossard meant Arsenal returned from the rain-sodden South Coast with all three points via a 3-0 win.
Sunday afternoon sees Liverpool make the trip to Old Trafford to take on fierce rivals Manchester United. It was only last month when the Red Devils dumped Klopp’s side out of the FA Cup and Liverpool will undoubtedly be out for revenge this time around.
In terms of what’s next for all three title contenders in the league, City welcome relegation-threatened Luton Town to the Etihad next Saturday afternoon. The reigning champions are the only side of the three battling it out to play next Saturday.
After Sunday’s showdown with United, Liverpool take Crystal Palace on at Anfield a week later before Arsenal face off with former boss Unai Emery when Aston Villa roll into town for a 4:30pm kick-off.
