Alisson Becker’s agent has dismissed speculation linking the Brazilian with a Liverpool exit.
The goalkeeper is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, and while it is not season-ending, Jurgen Klopp has previously confirmed that the 31-year-old won’t be available for selection again anytime soon. Caoimhin Kelleher has started the Reds’ last six matches in Alisson’s absence, and is set to retain the position for the foreseeable future as a result.
Klopp will step down as Liverpool manager in the summer after nine years at Anfield, with speculation regarding the futures of some of the Reds’ senior players arising as a result. Mohamed Salah continues to be linked with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia while Virgil van Dijk recently admitted his own future at the club is a little uncertain.
The pair are both out of contract in 2025. Throw in Liverpool’s search for a new manager and such speculation and uncertainty is understandable.
In contrast, Alisson is under-contract until 2027, having last signed an extension back in 2021. But that hasn’t stopped speculation back in his homeland bizarrely linking the 31-year-old with a return to Internacional.
Such a suggestion even went viral on social media, prompting Revista Colorada to contact the goalkeeper’s agent for clarity. Unsurprisingly, he has dismissed the possibility of Alisson moving on as ‘impossible’.
