Aurélien Tchouaméni step made ‘because of Liverpool’ as Jürgen Klopp ‘in $63m Real Madrid race

Liverpool’s good start to the season continues. Jürgen Klopp will no doubt be happy with what he’s seen from his players this week. The 2-0 Merseyside derby win over Everton was followed by comfortable victories over Toulouse and Nottingham Forest before a 2-1 away win against Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup — which included a stunner from Darwin Núñez — and now a quarter-final pairing with West Ham awaits in December.

Compared to last season, in which Liverpool had already lost four times in the Premier League, things look much more rosier this time around. Klopp was asked about the good start during his press conference earlier today, with the German saying: “It’s so early! Links have gathered pace again over the last few months, but 90Min now states that Madrid is ready to tie Tchouaméni down for the foreseeable future and the only way Liverpool can sign him is if the player rejects any potential new deal. As long as the 23-year-old is a key part of the team in Spain, it seems unlikely that he would want to leave.
