Liverpool doing what they do best.
Liverpool Have lost just one Premier League game this season in controversial circumstances and could be back in the title race.
The glamor of the Merseyside club is gone and Jurgen Klopp’s heavy metal football is back.
Klopp revolutionized the Premier League with his pressing style when he first arrived, and now Liverpool are doing better than ever with that style.
Speaking on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, Stephen Kelly spoke about Liverpool’s pressing and said the Reds are better than Man City when it comes to pressing the ball.
Liverpool is better than CityKelly shared his assessment with the Liverpool press. “We talk about pressure and energy. Manchester City and Tottenham do it, but Liverpool did it first and now that they have energy in the middle of the park, they do better.
It’s hard to get anything there.” Kelly said.
A team’s pressing is only as good as the effort their players put in and for the first time in a while, Liverpool’s players look ready to die for the shirt. It was really quiet around Anfield last season. But now, with new talent and new opportunities on the horizon, Liverpool are playing with a new energy that they didn’t have last season.
City, meanwhile, have looked a little more relaxed since winning the treble, and while they are still one of the best teams out there, their energy isn’t what it used to be.
This season’s title race promises to be incredibly exciting and we can’t wait to see how it pans out.
