Chicago Bulls rookie forward Matas Buzelis has been selected as an injury replacement for the 2025 Castrol Rising Stars game, stepping in for New Orleans Pelicans rookie center Yves Missi, who suffered a knee injury in a recent game against the Sacramento Kings.
Buzelis will join “Team M,” coached by NBA legend Mitch Richmond, in the Rising Stars event scheduled for Friday night at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
In addition to his participation in the Rising Stars game, Buzelis is set to compete in the Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday, making him the first Bulls player to take part in both events during the same All-Star Weekend.
The 20-year-old forward has been showcasing impressive form recently, averaging 14.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game over his last eight appearances. His shooting efficiency has also been notable, with a field goal percentage of 59.7% and a three-point shooting percentage of 42.4% during this stretch.
Buzelis’s addition to the Rising Stars roster highlights his growing impact and recognition in his rookie season with the Bulls.
