Chelsea have reacted after their mascot was left alone at Anfield ahead of their match with Liverpool. The Reds maintained their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League with an impressive 4-1 win over Chelsea at Anfield.
Chelsea went on to earn a consolation through Christopher Nkunku and Luis Diaz added a fourth goal. All in all, it was another disappointing night for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, who looked like a beaten team. What worries fans is not only the performance on the field, but also the way the mascot is handled.
But as the crowd sang “You Never Walk Alone,” the Blues mascot stood alone. Commenting on the video, one Chelsea fan wrote: “It’s very sad and shows where we are as a club… depressing,” while another added: “Can this club get it right?”
A third person said: “This is ridiculous!! The poor guy is a bit lost and so is the team he supports!! Another netizen said: “It’s heartbreaking. My two sons were mascots for @LFC Legends a few years ago. I will never forget how loyal the players were to them. “I feel sorry for the players,” he said, Fifth: “Poor boy. “I hate to see this happen and I’m very disappointed that our players weren’t paying attention.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk showed just how much fun the Blues can have by walking around with the mascot. As the transfer deadline approaches, Chelsea’s Armando Broja is attracting attention. Mail Sport understands Gary O’Neill’s recruitment team and Wolves were big fans of the Albanian striker.
Broha has scored two goals in 19 appearances for the club this season after being sidelined for nearly a year with an ACL injury. It comes as Fulham attempt to sign the forward, with Chelsea slashing their price by £50m today. Despite this, Silva’s side appear unwilling to meet the £5m loan price, with Mail Sport reporting they are also interested in a loan move for PSG striker Hugo Ekitiche.
