Liverpool will hope to make it four victories from their last five games in all competitions when they head to Brentford for this Saturday’s 12:30pm Premier League kick-off.
The Reds bounced back from their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday 4 February to run out 3-1 winners over Burnley at Anfield last weekend.
Earlier this week, Liverpool had some great news to share in the form of Mohamed Salah being spotted back in training.
The Reds shared footage on social media of the £34million man leading the way and smiling as he went to retrieve the ball from one of the lines.
Chris Sutton, writing on BBC Sport, has described the prospect of Salah returning to the Liverpool XI as a “huge boost”.
At the same time, the pundit believes the Reds are still very strong without the 31-year-old in their ranks, which should help get them over the line.
Sutton, who predicted a 2-1 win for Liverpool, wrote: “Mohamed Salah is getting back to full fitness too and might even feature on Saturday.
“Salah’s return would be a huge boost and will increase Liverpool’s firepower, but their attack is very strong even without him and I think that is what will get them over the line here.
“I am going with my heart over my head, really, because I’d like to see a close title race and Liverpool need to keep winning to keep City at bay.”
Mohamed Salah back in training for Liverpool after hamstring issue
Salah has not played for Jurgen Klopp‘s side since New Year’s Day after suffering a hamstring injury in the Africa Cup of Nations.
He limped off just before half-time during Egypt’s 2-2 draw with Ghana on January 18, and medical tests showed that he’d be out of action for a month.
The Pharaohs exited the tournament at the last-16 stage in the Liverpool man’s absence, who was then able to focus fully on a rehabilitation programme at the AXA Training Centre.
Now, after missing eight Liverpool games due to international duty and subsequent injury rehabilitation, Salah has returned to the Reds training pitches.
