Liverpool news as Reds star Conor Bradley takes on Ben Chilwell both on and off the pitch and comes out on top after a dramatic Carabao Cup final
Standout Liverpool defender Conor Bradley appeared to take a dig at Ben Chilwell after the Chelsea defender consistently tried to engage in a battle during the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
Chilwell and Bradley regularly came face-to-face in the Liverpool attacking third, often one-on-one without the help of Raheem Sterling at the back, and it was Jurgen Klopp’s newfound gem that came out on top.
Bradley and Chilwell were involved in several altercations throughout the game, with the Reds full-back having the last laugh in the end. After giving Chilwell a torrid time during the league meeting at Anfield earlier this month, in which Bradley scored his first senior goal for the club, the same threatened to happen at Wembley.
The 20-year-old was consistently left to run at his man on the ball and was only dealt with via a series of increasingly desperate last-ditch tackles as the game went on.
During a first-half collision, Bradley fouled Chilwell and landed on top of him in front of the linesman. Chilwell retaliated, pushing Bradley and looking to force a reaction from the academy graduate. Bradley was eventually backed up by his teammates but the feud between them went on.
In his post-match celebrations, Bradley took fire at Chilwell once more. Taking to Instagram after the game, Bradley posted an image of himself mocking the 27-year-old, arms out wide with a pout. As well as extra photos from the trophy lift alongside his teammates, Bradley added a snap of Chiwell putting his hands onto his own chest.
In the replies it certainly got the attention of defensive partner Ibrahima Konate. “[Crying with laughter face emojis] YES!!!” he replied.
