Trent Alexander-Arnold has been the main man on set-pieces at Liverpool for a long time.
Corners and free-kicks are Alexander-Arnold’s remit, and for good reason.
Whether he’s banging in a free-kick from 30 yards against Fulham or taking a corner quickly against Barcelona, Alexander-Arnold’s set-pieces are almost always pitch-perfect.
However, according to Conor Bradley, speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Alexander-Arnold isn’t actually the best dead-ball specialist at Liverpool.
Indeed, the right-back says that Dominik Szoboszlai is the main man when it comes to set-plays at Anfield, claiming that the Hungarian has a ball-striking ability that is similar to Cristiano Ronaldo’s.

Bradley spoke about the midfielder and Alexander-Arnold.
“I think Dom, between him and Trent, but just the way Dom hits the ball, I’ve never seen it before, it’s quite Ronaldo-esque, the way it just knuckles,” Bradley said.
Jurgen Klopp has always stuck with Trent Alexander-Arnold as his designated set-piece taker, but whoever the next Liverpool manager is may have a difficult decision to make here.
Indeed, whoever the next man in is will have his own ideas on how set-pieces at Liverpool should look, and he may have to choose between Szoboszlai and Alexander-Arnold as his man.
Of course, there’s also others such as Kostas Tsimikas, Andy Robertson and Alexis Mac Allister who may want to have their say on who should be in which role next season.
In a way, Liverpool are very lucky to have so many players with this incredible ability, but at the same time, that blessing is also a curse as there are difficult decisions to make on who should be taking which set-piece at which particular time.
Szoboszlai and Alexander-Arnold are two of the best in the business in this regard, that’s for sure.
