Different’… Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool have a player who offers something truly unique

Jurgen Klopp has praised the “different” qualities Wataru Endo brings to Liverpool. Endo was a surprise signing when he arrived from Stuttgart this summer. The 30-year-old has since received mixed reviews as he settles in at a top club.

But overall, Klopp’s faith in his new no. 3 was clear. The manager has heaped praise on Endo several times this season and Jurgen did so again in yesterday’s pre-Arsenal press conference. “We see him every day in training and he is one of the hardest working people I have ever met,” said the Liverpool manager. “It was always clear that he was going to be fine. But of course I’m glad the public can see it.“It was a very good performance [against West Ham] and he brought something different to the team. That’s for sure. He is a fighting man. Fewer than 20 players make pitching a hobby, but he does. “Also, his passing is very good and his awareness is very good. He feels that his position in possession and so on has improved. “This is football and it may take some time, but it doesn’t matter to me.”Klopp backs Endo’s tough approach Although Endo has yet to completely win the hearts of all Liverpool fans, it’s good to see his performances improving recently.

Japanese captains sometimes seem to act half a second slower. But overall, Endo seems to understand what Klopp wants from him.

One reason for this is undoubtedly the ex-Stuttgart’s work ethic. Endo proves to be a very intelligent footballer who analyzes his own games in detail. You can imagine that he is a cautious coach who does not often say what is expected of him. Wataru Endo One thing about Endo’s training that doesn’t take much effort is his attitude. As Klopp pointed out, Liverpool do not have many natural players in their current squad. As #6, it’s an important part of Endo’s game. He is not afraid to fight. According to Fotmob, Wataru has scored 1.62 times per 90 in the Premier League this season, placing him in the 71st percentile of players in the league.

With a 73% win rate in those fights, he is one of the most efficient players in the division.Endo’s matchup would still need some work, and Japan’s 43% match win rate per 90 minutes isn’t very good. But after seeing Fabinho struggle last year, it’s good to have someone willing to take on the old 50/50 again.
