Szoboszlai has now addressed the concerns over his injury. Speaking to M4 Sport (via Bence Bocsak), the midfielder insisted his withdrawal was simply a precaution.

“I’ll be fine,” Szoboszlai said. “My legs were a little stiff, I didn’t want to take any risks, that’s why I came off.”

Szoboszlai won’t have too long to recover before Hungary gets its tournament underway in Germany. They play their first group game against Switzerland on June 15, before facing the hosts on June 19 and Scotland on June 23.

Szoboszlai’s comments will come as a relief to Hungary supporters. The midfielder is arguably his nation’s biggest star, and they will be relying on him to lead them this summer.
