In an interview with Hungarian outlet Fodball, Szoboszlai mentioned Salah’s disciplined approach, including abstaining from pasta, bread, and alcohol, as well as his early morning gym sessions before afternoon training. Szoboszlai also shared an interesting anecdote about his interactions with Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
The two players meditated together during their time at Salzburg, with Haaland recommending the use of special glasses to improve sleep quality. While Szoboszlai didn’t find the glasses helpful, he acknowledged Haaland’s commitment to various practices that may not be widely known. “I talked to [Salah] a lot because I was interested in how he saw it,” Szoboszlai said. “He didn’t do it until he was about 28 years old, then he decided not to eat pasta, bread, basically he doesn’t drink alcohol.
“He’s been doing this since then, and if there’s training at noon, he’s already in the gym at 10.30. I don’t judge anyone, everyone can do whatever they want.
“When we played in Salzburg I meditated with [Haaland] two or three times because we were in the same room and at first I looked stupid and then I got in. He had a pair of glasses that he wore, and I used them for a while because he said they would make me sleep better and sleepy faster, but if I had, I would wear them now.
Mohamed Salah’s dedication and professionalism at Liverpool have impressed his teammate Dominik Szoboszlai, who recently joined the club from RB Leipzig. Szoboszlai revealed that he sought advice from Salah on preparation and training methods to gain an additional advantage on the field.
