Dominik Szoboszlai Scores A Quick Brace For Hungary

International breaks are always a tricky time for fans of club teams. There’s always a major worry that a key player will sustain an injury while on international duty, like when Liverpool lost starting left back Andy Robertson for three months after getting hurt while playing for Scotland.

While we may dread every time a Liverpool player steps on the pitch on international duty, it’s still nice to see players from the club we love play well on the world stage. Liverpool have seen quite a few players continue red hot club form with their national teams. Mohamed Salah scored four for Egypt last week while Luis Diaz netted an emotional brace for Colombia. Darwin Núñez scored for Uruguay, and Virgil van Dijk netted for the Netherlands.

Not to be left out, dynamic midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai continued his red-hot club form with a couple of massive performances for Hungary. Just a few days after providing an assist in a draw with Bulgaria, Szoboszlai netted twice in the span of two minutes in a win over Montenegro on Sunday.

Montenegro actually scored first before Szoboszlai took the match over. The midfielder went on a slaloming run down the right side of the pitch before beating a couple of defenders in the box, including a nutmeg. He slotted the ball home in the 66th minute to tie the match at 1-1. Shortly after the resulting kickoff, the midfielder played a quick one-two on the left side, receiving the return ball as he entered the box before slotting the ball home for what would be the winning goal.
