This is the second claim made this week about the Reds’ interest in the Napoli striker, leaving many fans on X to wonder whether the links to the Nigerian international are genuine. Some don’t think Jurgen Klopp’s side need another forward, while others suggest it could mean that Mo Salah is going at the end of the season:
Osimhen’s transfer fee could be a big stumbling block Calciomercato‘s report says that the Serie A club’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis wants a €200m (£174m) release clause in his new contract. However, with contract negotiations still ongoing, there is a possibility that he will be available for a much lower price next summer when he has just a year remaining on his current deal. There is, of course, competition from other teams to consider, with Chelsea also said to be interested in the 24-year-old.
Salah’s departure to Saudi Arabia would force Liverpool into the market Elite goal goalscorers are hard to come by so, even if Osimhen doesn’t play in the same position as Salah, he may be a forward that comes under consideration
Liverpool have been in contact with the representatives of Victor Osimhen, according to Calciomercato.com.
Multiple reports have claimed that Napoli would demand at least €150m (£131m) for Osimhen, with some quoting even higher numbers.
There is no doubt that, if the Egyptian international does leave for the Middle East, the Reds would have to find a replacement.
