While there are teams that still have work to do with their rosters for the upcoming 2026-27 season, particularly with the latest additions to the NCAA transfer portal, there is a lot of recruiting news coming out for 2027 and beyond with the July live period just concluding. Consensus three-star prospect Deng Ngor, who saw his stock rise dramatically this summer, reportedly has drawn the interest of Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils recently, per Rivals Jaime Shaw.
Ngor is a 6-8 wing from Alberta (Canada) who garnered much attention from his performance in helping Canada take gold in the FIBA U18 AmeriCup with a 67-65 win over the USA. Ngor, who scored 15 points in the gold medal game, averaged 10.2 points,4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.2 steals for the tournament. He also made 1.2 threes a game with shooting splits of 50.0/37.5/75.0.
Ngor is an explosive, long athlete who is a tough handle when going downhill. While not a great shooter, he is improving, particularly from the 3-point line. He has also shown the ability to be a defensive disruptor and can guard 2-4.
“West Virginia and Ohio State are the two schools I hear the most about with No. 28 overall Deng Ngor, but Duke is a program to watch,” Shaw wrote today. “Ngor burst onto the national scene after helping Canada beat the USA and win gold at the 2026 FIBA U18 AmeriCup. He plays for the same Brookwood Elite program as Duke freshman Maxime Meyer and was also Meyer’s teammate on that Canadian U18 team. I am told Duke is very intrigued by Ngor, and if the Blue Devils decide to push, they are a team to watch closely. Florida, Marquette, Auburn, Washington and South Carolina are among the other programs involved.”
Duke already has a commitment from the Class of 2027 in four-star forward Kager Knueppel, who, of course, is the brother of former Blue Devil Kon Knueppel.
Tennessee and Vanderbilt Reportedly Have An Edge In Five-Star Malachi Jordan’s Recruitment
Malachi Jordan is a consensus five-star prospect who is ranked 14th in the country by the three major recruiting services, with ESPN having him the highest at No. 5. The Nashville (TN) native will play his final prep season at Prolific Prep.
Jordan is a three-level scorer who loves to attack the rim and finishes through contact. Jordan moves well without the ball and possesses a nice mid-range jumper and touch from the 3-point line. Defensively, he can guard 2-4 and has the capability of being a disruptor due to his length.
Jordan recently cut his list down to seven with Alabama, Kansas, Ohio State, Tennessee, UConn, USC, Vanderbilt, and Washington making the cut. However, Shaw said earlier today that Tennessee and Vanderbilt appear to have an edge in his recruitment.
Speaking with sources around the recruitment, as he heads into his official visits, the schools I am hearing the most for Jordan are Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Jordan previously took an official visit to Washington. The 6-foot-7 forward has dates set with USC (September 4), Kansas (September 12), Vanderbilt (September 19), Tennessee (September 26), and UConn (October 6).
