Haaland came on as a second-half substitute in Norway’s 2-0 win over the Faroe Islands.
The humble Norwegian sprained his ankle and was not substituted.
Manchester City face Liverpool in the Premier League opener nine days later on Saturday.
Erling Haaland is struggling with injury nine days before Manchester City’s Premier League clash with Liverpool.
The Norwegian sprained his ankle during Norway’s 2-0 win over the Faroe Islands after being taken off in the second half.
Haaland didn’t have to take off, but he was quite uncomfortable after landing.
Haaland sat out the first half of the 6-1 defeat to Bournemouth earlier this month with an ankle problem. The 23-year-old was certainly not missed by his team-mates when Premier League boy Jeremy Doku ran riot.
Norway still have one Euro 2024 qualifier ahead of them before the end of the international break, but with Spain and Scotland in Group A, Haaland is likely to miss the game against the latter.
After the injury, Norway’s team doctor, Ola Sand, told TV2: “Basically it was the same as the Bournemouth game a week and a half ago. This has happened before.
“His ankle was slightly twisted, which made him a bit more vulnerable. It hurts a lot right away and then goes away very quickly.
So we’ll see how he does tomorrow. “Now he’ll get treatment and rest. And we’ll see how he feels tomorrow morning.
“Haaland scored a record 36 goals in 35 Premier League appearances in his debut season at the Etihad and went on to score a further 18 goals in all competitions as City secured a historic treble, including their first League title Champions.
He played as a starter in the Premier League this time but was the only player not to play the full 90 minutes as he was substituted for Bournemouth and Burnley in the 79th minute.
The second Ballon d’Or winner has picked up where he left off when it comes to scoring, scoring 13 goals in the Premier League and four in four Champions League group stage games.
