Former Premier League striker Mido has shared some information on Mohamed Salah potentially leaving Liverpool for Saudi Arabia.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia for months.
The Reds rejected a £150million bid from Al-Ittihad on deadline day last summer, keeping the winger at Anfield.
We understands that the interest remains and and that Salah will receive a record-breaking offer this summer.
The Saudi Pro League are serious about signing Salah and may be willing to pay him more than £3million-a-week.
That would put Salah in the realm of Cristiano Ronaldo’s earnings as the Saudi Pro League look to tempt him away from Anfield.
Mido on Mohamed Salah
Former Premier League striker Mido has now spoken to talkSPORT and has offered some claims about Salah’s future.
Mido – a fellow Egyptian – suggested that there have been multiple meetings surrounding Salah moving to Saudi Arabia.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker believes that there is a ‘deal in hand’ for Salah to make the move this summer.
Mido feels that the time is right for Salah to move on, highlighting that he will feel ‘almost home’ in Saudi Arabia.
Salah will always be a Liverpool legend in the eyes of Mido and he thinks that Liverpool should cash in whilst they still can.
“I know there have been maybe a couple of meetings between the Saudi investment group and Liverpool and Salah’s representatives,” said Mido. “I know that there is a deal in hand for Salah to go to Saudi, especially as he is running out of contract now, he has one more season to go, so I think it’s the right time for everybody, for Liverpool to get some money out of Salah.”
“They bought him for £40million and it’s been a bargain for them, of course, so if they can sell him for €150million when he’s 31, this would be a bargain for Liverpool and also for the player, he has done everything for the club, he won trophies, he made history at Liverpool and I believe that he will always be a Liverpool legend.”
“The supporters and the fans have to understand his position; if he can go to Saudi, near to his home country, Egypt, a country that speak the same language, he will feel almost home,” he added.
