In what is likely the last move that they will make this offseason, UNC has secured former Buffalo shooting guard Angelo Brizzi for their 2026-27 roster. His commitment arrives after things had went quiet over the last few weeks for Michael Malone and his staff.
Brizzi is a 6’3, 170-lb shooting guard from Warrenton, VA. He started his career at Villanova, and since then has transferred to a different school after each season. Other schools he competed for include Davidson, Longwood, and of course, Buffalo. During his senior season with the Bulls, Brizzi averaged 14.5 points and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 48% from the field and 37.3% from three. Now that a fifth year of eligibility is an option, Brizzi is joining a Carolina team that has been doing their best to finish adding depth to the roster.
Now that Brizzi is committed, it’s safe to say that Malone’s construction of the 2026-27 roster should be finished. The only thing that could cause things to change is the rumblings of the NCAA trying to modify eligibility requirements that would make it to where international players who previously played in the pros could be deemed ineligible. There hasn’t been any updates on that situation, though, so UNC’s roster should be safe for the time being.
