Former Kentucky Forward Jordan Burks Transfers to Oklahoma State After UCF Stint.

Oklahoma State basketball coach Steve Lutz has been searching the transfer portal for size and perimeter shooting, and he found both Friday with the addition of former Kentucky and UCF forward Jordan Burks.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys added another key piece to their roster on Saturday with a commitment from former UCF Knights forward Jordan Burks. The 6-foot-9 stretch forward gives head coach Steve Lutz exactly what he has been targeting in the transfer portal — size, versatility and perimeter shooting.

Burks is coming off a productive season at UCF where he averaged 13.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting 37.3% from three-point range. His ability to space the floor at his size makes him an intriguing addition for a Cowboys team continuing to reshape its roster ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The former Kentucky Wildcats player started all 33 games for UCF and consistently provided offensive production, recording 23 double-digit scoring performances and multiple 20-point outings throughout the year. His shooting touch and experience at the high-major level should immediately help Oklahoma State offensively.

Burks announced his commitment through Instagram, becoming one of the latest transfer additions for Steve Lutz as the Cowboys continue an aggressive offseason rebuild. Lutz has emphasized adding length and shooting to modernize Oklahoma State’s roster, and Burks fits that mold perfectly as a forward capable of stretching defenses while also providing frontcourt depth.

Before his breakout season at UCF, Burks began his college career at Kentucky, where he appeared in 20 games as a freshman. Though his role was limited in Lexington, he later developed into a proven contributor through stops in the transfer portal, culminating in a strong campaign with the Knights.

With Burks now in the fold, Oklahoma State continues building a roster designed to compete immediately in the Big 12, adding experienced players with proven production at the college level.

Originally from Decatur, Alabama, Jordan Burks began his college career with the Kentucky Wildcats before transferring to Georgetown for his sophomore season.

The lengthy 6-foot-9 wing broke out during his junior year at UCF, averaging 13.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while emerging as a dangerous perimeter shooter. Burks recorded five 20-point performances last season, knocking down at least four three-pointers in each of those outings.

Burks becomes the sixth transfer portal addition for Oklahoma State this spring, joining a recruiting haul that also includes four high school signees. With four players returning from last season’s roster, the Cowboys now have just one scholarship spot remaining as Steve Lutz continues reshaping the program ahead of the 2026-27 season.
